Well,
I didn't post for some time now, since I didn't quite know what to write.
I am still sitting at home, healing my operated foot and working on the one or the other project.

Next to extensively running my online Eberron campaign (sorry it isn't visible for the public though), which soes quite a few work, I almost finished up the official map for the german Living Greyhawk campaign in Campaign Cartographer 3. I am impressed what CC3 can do and how wonderful the maps look like. I will post a sample of the map soon (well, as soon as I am allowed to do so).

Well, next to this I am reading a bit in the "Tome of Battle: Book of nine Swords" one of the newer installments of WotC for the D&D game. This book adds some pretty cool martial techniques to the D&D game, just like those viewable in movies like Matrix, but not necessarily asian. The book is quite cool and I see forward to play one of those new classes, preferable the "crusader".

Aside to this I was on a concert last thursday. We went to see Babylon Bombs (www.babylonbombs.net) and Hardcore Superstar (hardcoresuperstar.com) together in a small club concert. The gig was really great and the atmosphere was cool. I love this 80's sleaze rock style both bands are doing.
Then I was eager to listen to the new "The Killers"-album called "Sam's Town". I loved the first album of this Las Vegasian rockband (Hot Fuss) and the new album is also pretty good. We will see them live in early november....

At last the Spiel 2006 in Essen comes nearer and nearer. I will be at the ProFantasy booth again this year... the same procedure than every year... and show the people my enormous intelect in using CC3 *coff coff* - well a hint: if you really like to see good work ask Ralf at the booth instead of me *g*
You will find the ProFantasy stand at Hall 6 booth 6-27
It hopefully will be the booth next to Alex Otterleis (AO Music) booth, a composer and friend of mine who comes from Belgium and who brings Rhianna Pratchett - daughter of Terry Pratchett - along with him on saturday and sundays

Well see you there
bye for now

Sunny Sunday...

Phew! Times is running so fast. It's more than 10 days, then I last postet here. I am into too many projects at the same time I think and a day is much too short of hours. Hmmm, it would be great if one can do without sleep.

okay, what am I up too? As I said, a lot of stuff. Perhaps I show you in some time, but until now, nothing is finished.
My priority project at this moment is a map for the german Living Greyhawk campaign, which I am doing in  Campaign Cartographer 3 (CC3) and which I also doing for a friend.

Then there is "The Sharn Kobold", a project we just started within the DnD-Gate and which has the goal to establish a german online newspaper for the D&D Eberron Setting, we are all so fond of.

Ahhh and yes, speaking about the DnD-Gate.de: I am also into some enhancements of the layout/design and into implementing some new features (in fact Tzelzix will do this stuff, since I am a total noob on coding stuff). I recently stumbled about a cool website, where an artist sells some really good ornamental graphics for a few dollars. Those are really really cool, and I bought some of them to use them for the design enhancement. At least I never can have enough graphic resources.

well, fortunately I will have a lot of time the next weeks, since my right foot will be operated on next tuesday morning and I will be hopping aroudn for a while after that, not being able to go on duty and eating donuts (well the donut eating will be possible though...) *eg*

okay, have to finish now and go helping my wife cooking the dinner.
yum yum
bye for now

Still tired...

  • 29. Aug 2006 at 10:57 AM

well, a few days have gone past and I am still tired from the week on nightshift... or it must be the weather. It's so damn ugly rainy here in germany this time and my mood's going down the river as well.

Anyways, I spend my spare free time playing around with the new Campaign Cartographer 3 (CC3) and drawing a map for a friend with it. CC3 is really awesome and the optical output and bitmap effects are great. Some things I like to do with it are somehow difficult, but with some trying I should make that up too.

Next to CC3 I am down to reading the sixth german book of George R.R. Martins "Game of Thrones" Saga (which is actual the second half of the third english book) and the saga has tied me up. I spend as mcuh time as I can taking up the book and reading it. Unfortunately the saga doesn't continues much far to this time, since the last book so far (Feast of crows) hasn't been completly translated to german so far. hmmm, I wonder if I should read the english book instead?

What am I up to next?
Really.... I don't know exactly. I will still play around with CC3, reading the last pages of the book mentioned above and I will go to work without the right mood every day. Well, I also should take some time, altering the DnD-Gate.de design, since we want to change (or better enhance) some stuff on the site, but since my mood is down, my ideas are gone too. Perhaps the next week will be better...

bye

First entry

hmmmm, I just wanted to comment something and bang, now I am having my own livejournal :D.
Well I really don't know yet, what to write into this, but since it seems, that such livejournals are fairly modern, I will keep it up from time to time.

Well a few things first:
My name is Talamar, that is I am known with this name in quite some sections of the www, especially in the german (and some american) roleplaying areas. Unfortuantely someone other has registered that name her at livejournal some years ago, so I had to choose another name (gatekobold) under which this journal is running.
A friend of mine (Tzelzix) and me are running one of the biggest (if not the biggest) german languaged D&D (Dungeons&Dragons) / D20 & RPG websites - the www.dnd-gate.de
Well it's german languaged though but non-commercial. If you llike to have look, feel free to do so.

okay that is should be enough for the first entry. I will do some writing here from time to time I guess, especially when I have stuf relating to "The Gate" (as we heartedly call our website)

So come to where the kobolds are - www.dnd-gate.de
